NURSERY BMP LAB PROGRAM

Serving Miami-Dade County Nursery Growers

Land use is changing in our area. Traditional agriculture of row crops and groves is being replaced by container nurseries and housing. More housing requires more landscaping, and our local growers have become a major source of landscape plants in the U.S. It is important for every container nursery grower to learn how to survive in today’s market!

As the population grows, so does the need for water, for people and for their plants.

The Nursery Irrigation Lab Program has been created to help the primary agricultural sector to better utilize existing resources, and preclude the need for government regulation.

Those participants who sign up early on to be evaluated by our nursery lab team will not only be presumed compliant for subsequent state water quality/quantity standards but will also be at the top of the list to receive future cost-share benefits geared to the nursery industry as they become available.

Benefits to Nurseries from participation in program:

bulletFREE evaluation of existing irrigation systems
bulletSavings on pumping costs
bulletSavings on fertilizer costs by maximizing applications
